Reviews for Ghost of a Chance

Becky of Dark Angel Reviews gave us a
recommended read and had this to say about the book.

When Robert’s boss forces him to move to a new
house in a new town for their company, he is
caught off guard by the
strange
happenings in his new bedroom. Unsure if what
he’s having are just dreams or if something more
sinister is afoot, Robert is pulled into a world
of passion and ecstasy he never knew possible.
However, an old newspaper Robert comes across
explains things a little more accurately…the man
from his dream—the man who just gave him the
best oral sex of his life—has been dead for
forty years! So what the heck is happening to
Robert? Is it some ghost’s idea of a joke or is
Nate trying to reach out to Robert for help to
find his lover’s missing body? Enlisting the
help of Officer Joe Sanders, kin to Nate’s
lover, Robert is thrown for another loop when
he’s instantly attracted to the delicious man in
uniform. Will Robert’s life ever be normal
again? And what will Joe’s reaction be when
Robert tells him what’s been going on in the new
house?
GHOST OF A CHANCE is a truly unique
smorgasbord of both genres and storylines. I was
captured from the very first sentence and kept
riveted to the very end. Jude Mason is one of my
all time favorite authors and when you read
GHOST OF A CHANCE (and you better!), you’ll know
why. First we have the “relationship” between
the ghost of Nate and Robert. Nate has been
deliciously naughty with Robert in the bedroom,
going down on him and bringing him to numerous
orgasms. We also have the relationship between
Nate and his missing lover, who Nate wants
found. He’s sure he was killed for being gay and
wants Robert’s help in proving it. Then there’s
the budding relationship between Officer Sanders
and Robert. Robert is instantly attracted to
officer hottie and vice versa. I really loved
the mystery surrounding the deaths of Nate and
his lover. And oh, the sex? It’s going to push
you over the edge for sure! If you’re in the
mood for a kick butt male/male romance with a
touch of the paranormal and a gripping mystery,
check out GHOST OF A CHANCE. This is, without a
doubt, my favorite story of the year!

Rose, of Romance at Heart Magazine had
this to say about Ghost of a Chance:
Being on the good side of one’s boss
is usually a desirable position. However, this time being on the bad side of
the boss brings unexpected blessings. So it is when Robert Haskins is
banished to the country. Here he finds a kind of peace, and a gem of a farm
on the outskirts of the small town. Having only the weekend to move in is
not necessarily fun, but he is certain he can manage to get most things done
before it is back to work on Monday. This night, his dreams are erotically
enhanced by a very handsome ghost who is intent on giving him more pleasure
than he has known in a long time. The next day, thinking all had to be a
dream, Robert begins to get his new home in order. It is when he is
considering his remodeling options, and about painting the master bedroom’s
surprisingly roomy closet, he gets quite a surprise. As he looks through the
things left there, and begins to clean it out he finds the old newspapers
and the articles. As he reads through the papers, he is shocked to recognize
the face of his “ghost” from his dream encounter night before. This leads
him to wonder about the man, about why he is haunting him, and a host of
other questions to which he may never know the answers.
Joe Sanders is a small town cop, and he is an oddity. In the country, one
doesn’t find too may homosexuals due to little if any tolerance, an
abundance of prejudice, and downright hostility of the community. Joe is
different, not only because he is a hometown boy, but it goes to his
strength, persistence, and training in his field for he is also gay. It
helps his acceptance to be a long time resident of the area. His family ties
go way back, but there is darkness here as well. His great uncle Daniel was
thought to have been murdered by his lover, and that man hanged. It was a
dark time, hard for the family to reconcile facts with the fictions written.
The stain was still a sore spot on the family history, a mystery never
solved. It didn’t help matters when it became obvious Joe was gay, and it
was harder still when he wanted to be a cop. He knew he would have to be
better, harder, stronger, and more accomplished to achieve his goal, but he
made it. Now he is faced with a stranger named Robert Haskins, and he is
telling an even stranger tale. But with the telling, a chill slither’s down
Joes back…
Here is another example of Jude Mason at her very best. Give her two
handsome men, a mysterious disappearance, and she will tell you a tale of
love, jealousy, hatred, and revenge all wrapped up with a shiny bow and
glittery paper. Ghost of a Chance is not any different. Once again, Jude
brought a pair of lovers together under circumstances more than just
strange. Robert is exiled from his company after an incident at a party he
really didn’t want to attend. Now, faced with the peace of a small town, and
finding the exile to his liking, he also discovers a mystery via some very
explicitly erotic dreams. Discovering the impetus behind his ghostly visitor
leads him to the local constable, and a resident hunk if he can say so
himself. Finding Joe ready and willing to listen, Robert pours out the
story, and finds he has more in common with Joe than either would have
guessed. As the weekend come to a close, there are things to be done, and as
the men tackle them together, they find they really want there to be more
between them. Will Robert and Joe solve the mystery and come to terms with
their attraction? Or will small town prejudice, and the 40 year-old murder,
spoil their chance at happiness? Be sure to get your copy of Ghost of a
Chance at
Total-E-Bound Books. As with all of Jude's books, it is one
you can't miss!
Yours in good reading,
Rose!

Robert Haskins is looking to make wine
out of sour grapes when an “unfortunate” incident at a company event gets
him exiled to the country. What to some would be a career breaking move is
really a blessing for Robert. He is tired of all the trappings that come
with working in the main office with his harridan of a boss. With only a
weekend to move into his new house out in the country Robert is busy as he
can be but, on the first night there something completely unexpected occurs.
Robert awakens to the most arousing situation, but it’s not an erotic dream
it’s a visitation by a ghost, and he needs Robert’s help. As he probes
deeper into the visitation Robert becomes convinced that a great wrong has
been committed. Swallowing his fears he enlists the aid of policeman, Joe
Sanders, the hottest thing on two legs that Robert has seen in a long time.
Can they rectify this 40 year old grievance, do they even stand a Ghost of a
Chance.
This started on an erotic note and ended on an erotic note. Ghost of a
Chance built on the opening act and kept notching the sensuality up with
every page. The chemistry between Robert and Joe was instantaneous and
palpable. They complemented each other and when they came together in the
bedroom, the yard, or anywhere else they happened to be it was descriptively
written and smoking hot. The base plot of Nate and Daniel was very
interesting and I would have loved to have been able to delve a little
deeper into that story as well. I love the paranormal element and what it
brought to the story and the relationship between Robert and Joe. I look
forward to reading more works from Jude Mason!
